Just 10 minutes by car from Assisi, you’ll find a private rose garden beloved by locals. Residents come here to buy seeds for their gardens, while couples and tourists enjoy photo sessions. This beautiful destination is open to the public free of charge.
The rose garden, named Roseto Giardino Quando Fioriranno Le Rose (translated as “When the Roses Bloom”), was established in 2010 and is dedicated to the local saints, Clare and Francis.

The shop offers not only seeds and large potted roses, but also a selection of souvenirs—postcards, dishware, and themed photo albums.
The garden also offers a stunning view of the Basilica of Saint Francis (La Basilica di San Francesco d’Assisi).
We recommend spending at least 4 days around Assisi. The area is filled with fascinating sights. You can stay at the Il Roseto guesthouse with its stunning city view, or at the Relais Parco Subasio villa.
