Verona
Italian Verona is perhaps one of the most romantic cities in the world, sung by the great Shakespeare, shrouded in many secrets and mysteries and invariably attracting hundreds and thousands of tourists, each of whom strives to find something special in this place. Some come to Verona to be inspired by the romantic atmosphere that reigns here, some – to enjoy the beautiful architecture and historical monuments, and some – to escape from everyday worries and bustle in a quiet and calm city.
One way or another, Verona has something to see and do. For example, being in the city where, according to Shakespeare’s vision, the tragic love story unfolded, you cannot help but look into Juliet’s Courtyard to see with your own eyes the balcony (Ballcone nella casa di Giulietta), under which the ardent Romeo sang serenades to his beloved, or to visit one of the operas in the majestic Arena di Verona (Arena di Verona).
It is also worth taking a stroll around the main square of the city, Piazza delle Erbe, and relaxing in the beautiful Garden of Giardino Giusti. You can also have an equally active rest in Verona at nighttime. The city is filled with cozy cafes and restaurants, where chefs offer to taste local cuisine, as well as all kinds of shops and boutiques, where you can find almost everything.
