There are not so many good 5-star hotels in the historical center of Venice, and if you take into account the ratings and reviews of tourists, plus my personal experience, then you will have to choose from no more than a dozen options. The average cost of a 5-star hotel in Venice varies from 600 to 1000 EUR per day. In the article, we will consider both more affordable and more expensive accommodation options.

Cipriani, Belmond Hotel, Venice
The Cipriani, Belmond Hotel, Venice is considered one of the most luxurious and expensive in Venice.
Prices start from 1000 EUR per night. It is the only hotel in the city center with its own large outdoor swimming pool and a tennis court. In addition, there are areas for relaxation, meditation, and contemplation of the lagoon. Naturally, a transfer from the airport to Piazza San Marco is organized for the guests.
The hotel features the Oro gourmet restaurant, Cip’s Club with a wooden deck overlooking St. Mark’s Basilica, and the Porticciolo restaurant, perfect for a light lunch.
The most affluent travelers can book the 50-square-meter Lagoon View Suite with a balcony for 4.640 EUR per night.
Let’s take a look at the more affordable options.
Hotel Londra Palace
Londra Palace is located right on the Riva degli Schiavoni seafront, just a 5-minute walk from Saint Mark’s Square. Some rooms offer incredible views of San Giorgio Maggiore Island.
Besides, there are well-known sights nearby – the Church of St. Zacharias (Chiesa di San Zaccaria) and a few hundred meters – Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale).
Hotel Metropole Venezia
You can book a room with a view of the lagoon at the Hotel Metropole Venezia for only 600 EUR. The hotel has an ideal location on the main promenade and is just a few minutes’ walk from the Bridge of Sighs (Ponte dei Sospiri).
The rooms are furnished with antique furniture and good soundproofing, and in the corridors, you can admire a collection of antique fans, tapestries, and other art objects. In addition, the hotel has a Michelin-starred restaurant.
Sina Centurion Palace – The Best View of Venice
If you choose a 5-star hotel in Venice with the best view, then Sina Centurion Palace is definitely at the top of the rating.
The hotel is located in the historical area of Dorsoduro, overlooking the Grand Canal and the Basilica di Santa Maria della Salute. Even though the hotel is situated in a palace built in 1892, it harmoniously combines elements of the past and a modern, stylish interior. Prices for a room start from 500 EUR per night, and a suite with a view of the Grand Canal will cost you 1100 EUR. In addition, you have to pay an extra 36 EUR for the breakfast of the minuses.
The Gritti Palace – Feel Like a Royal
For those who want to feel like a princess or a prince, welcome to The Gritti Palace, a 5-star hotel with an uncompromising location right on the banks of the Grand Canal. Excellent rating, location, and comfort make this hotel the best in Venice.
Here you will not meet random people, since this is the most expensive hotel in the city by the average cost of a room. There are no options to stay for the night cheaper than 1600 EUR. Breakfast costs 53 EUR – this cuts off most of even the wealthiest tourists. There are two restaurants, for every service and whim you can imagine. The Teatro La Fenice is located next to the hotel.
Baglioni Hotel Luna
Last but not least on the list is Baglioni Hotel Luna, which is located 100 meters from Piazza San Marco.
Be sure to start your day with the first rays of the sun in the morning, admiring the light on the bell tower and the cathedral in the closest to the hotel part of the square – the sun will just rise from the side of the basilica, and it is magical. The only thing that can stop you from booking this hotel is the prices, which start from 800 and is up to 4300 EUR per night.
Conclusions and advice
For 5-star hotels, especially in Venice, tourists always have the highest demands and expectations. Of course, these expectations must be met, especially for such money. Let’s sum it up:
- If you are successful and the price is affordable for you, then choose between Baglioni Hotel Luna and Cipriani, Belmond Hotel, Venice. If you are a millionaire or a royal family member, then welcome to The Gritti Palace – the best and most expensive hotel in Venice.
- Londra Palace и Hotel Metropole Venezia. I prefer the first option. Still, lovers of antiquity will most likely choose the second one.
- Before booking Sina Centurion Palace, be sure to read reviews. The experience might not be perfect, but the convenient location partly compensates.
