The history of the Cesana Torinese commune dates back to the 11th century, which is reflected in its appearance – medieval churches and chapels from the 12th century continue to attract numerous tourists from different countries. During the medieval period, the commune was mainly involved in agriculture, but since the 1960s, the area has seen the development of the tourism sector. Today, the resort offers a full range of services and entertainment that are typical of a resort.

The primary attraction in Cesana Torinese is skiing. For those who aren’t fond of skiing, there are plenty of other options for recreation, including paragliding, snowmobiling, dog sledding, shopping, and spa facilities. In the summer, fishing in local lakes, horseback riding, and mountaineering are popular. The Via Lattea resort region has over 250 miles of ski slopes of varying difficulty and elevation. More than half of them (136 miles) are intermediate-level (red) slopes suitable for experienced skiers. Professionals can challenge themselves on descents from the peaks of Fraiteve and Moncrons.

Ski Passes

In Cesana Torinese, a unified ski pass is valid for the Via Lattea slopes. The ski pass cost depends on the time of year and the skier’s age: for children born in 2009 or later, a weekly pass costs 59 euros. For adults, it’s 153/223 euros (low/high season, respectively).

A “Golden” ski pass is offered to older tourists born before 1941. Its cost is 147 euros regardless of the season.

Après-Ski

After skiing, tourists can relax in local restaurants and bars (some of which are located close to the slopes and lifts), and visit wellness centers and pools. For those who prefer nightlife, the commune also features nightclubs and discos.

Getting to Cesana Torinese

The airport is located in Turin, 80 kilometers from Cesana-Torinese. A flight ticket from Moscow to Turin will cost you around 200 euros. From Turin to Cesana-Torinese, you can travel by train, bus, or car, using airport transfer services.

By Bus

You can take a direct bus from Turin to Cesana-Torinese at the Turin Bolzano station. The ticket costs approximately 12-14 euros, and the bus routes are 275, 291, Vialattea Express. The journey takes about 3 hours.

By Train

The train journey will go as follows: the international Paris-Milan line, from the Turin Porta Nuova station to the Oulx-Cesana-Claviere-Sestiere station. From there, take a local bus to Cesana-Torinese. Trains on this route run hourly, with a travel time of 2 hours and 20 minutes. By Taxi

Another option for traveling from Turin to Cesana-Torinese is by transfer. You can pre-book a transfer for your convenience. The average cost of the trip is around 170 euros, and the travel time is approximately 1 hour.
